I read that an ex-guitar play for Fleetwood Mac died today. I’ve been a fan of Fleetwood Mac since their “Rumours” days. He wasn’t playing with them when I started listening to them, so I can’t really speak to his contributions to the band, but I do love their music.

Faith
I mentioned in my Christmas letter that I was praying for my friend’s baby girl from China. I mentioned that we hadn’t met her yet and that she may not even be born yet, but we were praying for her nonetheless. I didn’t mention the blog that my friends have created to chronicle their journeyContinue reading “Faith”
365 Day Project-Day 5-Santa Fe
I’ve written about Beirut before. I first heard their music in 2007, introduced to them by Steve McCoy at Reformissionary. I fell in love. There’s no way to describe the sound unless you understand Balkan-French-Mexican fusion… You just have to listen. Remember… we’re listening this year…
365 Day Project–Day Four–Bella’s Lullaby
Ok, so we’re leaving the Appalachias and heading west, or rather northwest; The Northwest, to be more precise. I know there are those who will “hate” on me for this selection, but I like it and that’s all that matters… to me. Yes, I’ve seen all the Twilight movies. No, I haven’t read the books. Continue reading “365 Day Project–Day Four–Bella’s Lullaby”
365 Day Project–Day Three
I was gonna try to post something different, but I'm in a melancholy mood lately, soundwise. Maybe it’s because of the time of year, the starkness of the season, fog and gloom. I’m not saying I’m feeling melancholy. It’s more an expectant feeling, a waiting, a pause perhaps. Or maybe I’m just sitting a spell…Continue reading “365 Day Project–Day Three”
Shooting Stars
I love shooting stars, falling stars. Call them what you may, I love when I can spot, or “catch” one. I used to commute between San Jose and Oakdale for several years and remember catching an occasional falling star on my late drives home. It was a particular tough time in my life and oddly,Continue reading “Shooting Stars”
Mariah
I had planned for this to be a post about my trip to Mexico. I wanted to share the great time we had there, working, blessing and being blessed by everyone at Santa Marta. I wanted to talk about Rosalva, the wife of one of the teachers, and mother to Andrea and Daniel. She andContinue reading “Mariah”
On the road again
Ok, so maybe it’s not so far, this time. Just heading to Ohio; Broadview Heights, to be more specific, the Chad Allen’s even more specifically. I’m on a domestic flight this time, but it’s still just as exciting. I booked a red-eye, too, so that should make the trip even more interesting; 11:40PM flight outContinue reading “On the road again”
Acts 29 Bootcamp – San Jose, CA
I’m attending the Acts 29 bootcamp in San Jose, CA this weekend. Excited and looking forward to hearing and seeing God at work here. (ok, meant to post this yesterday…) Acts 29 Network Friday, June 3 – Day 1 included DA Carson, Matt Chandler, Mark Driscoll. I hope to make sense of my notes andContinue reading “Acts 29 Bootcamp – San Jose, CA”
Grandparenthood
I've been watching Parenthood since the beginning of the series. Can't remember exactly what the specific hook was that prompted me to start watching this show, but I was hooked. It made me cry. It's made me cry several times. I can't remember the exact episode that made me cry the first time, but I'm sureContinue reading “Grandparenthood”
