Easter Monday: His Mercy Is More

Didn’t post anything yesterday. I looked at it as a day of quiet reflection, Easter Sunday.

It was an odd day, compared to previous Easters, very quiet. I attended church online and then spent the day quietly. Didn’t even watch much TV in the evening, didn’t go out and howl. It was quiet.

It’s been a month now of quietening, settling. Interesting results are showing up as a result. The air is clearer, even scientists are saying the earth is settling somewhat because everything has shut down. As an introvert, I may be able to say that I have enjoyed the quiet… more than many, I’m sure. I’ve read more this month. I’ve listened to music more, this month. I’ve written more. Aside from the slight hiccup of less income… it has been relatively tolerable… I do miss spending time with my grandbabies… but video chat has helped that even.

I looked at the calendar hanging near my desk this morning. Yes, I still have calendars hanging around here at home. I find them quite useful now that the days seems to fade together… no weekdays, no weekend… just days. Anyway, I looked at the calendar and saw that today is Easter Monday. It’s a Canadian holiday, it seems. I thought I would use this holiday to post a song that we sung in church yesterday. Well, I sung it here at home, out loud, while watching and listening online to the worship leader.

Selah.

What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

Praise the Lord, His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness, new every morn
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father, so tender, is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

What riches of kindness he lavished on us
His blood was the payment, His life was the cost
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
