Lucky Man/Fanfare for the Common Man

My brother-in-law told the fam today via text that Keith Emerson had died. Alas, my response was "meh." I had googled Keith Emerson and saw that he was the EMERSON of Emerson, Lake & Palmer from back in the day, but it still didn't register. Maybe it was because my poor pea brain read Emerson, Lake and Palmer but heard music from Electric Light Orchestra. Don't try to understand that. Just don't. No one has ever been able to, so don't bother.

At any rate, it didn't register, until Rodger mentioned a couple of songs and I looked them up and THEN realized who Emerson, Lake and Palmer really were. Ohhhh, my bad…

I initially thought of sharing one song, but they really warrant two… probably more, but that's all for tonight…

The first song was one of my favorite songs from back in the day. Yeah, way back… It brings back memories.

The other, well, it's a take on one of my favorite composers, Aaron Copland.  I think I've shared some of his works before, but if not, I will…

Here's ELP's variation on that theme…

Sorry, Rodg. Shoulda paid more respect…
