I don't know if I've spoke of this here before, but my classical music education began with early Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies and even Bugs Bunny cartoons. Think of Elmer Fudd crying "Kill the Wabbit" to the music of Wagner… As a child, I was enthralled by the music!
From there my education took on a more serious bent with music classes and choir from sixth grade through my senior year of high school. I sang with my school choir all those years, even competing in various UIL competitions, learning music history and performing music from the masters of choral music. I love classical music as a result, from Bach to Bizet to Beethoven, and, of course, Ravel.
And so, thanks to the Golden Globes this weekend, I discovered Mozart in the Jungle. And I'm now immersed in the machinations of the New York Philharmonic Symphony and the people who comprise it. I love it!
Heard this tonight and you get to hear it as well…
You're welcome.
