Urbana 15 started tonight in St. Louis, MO. Over 16,000 people will convene in St. Louis for the next four days for this triennial missions conference ending with a New Year's Eve communion and celebration that puts ALL other celebrations to shame. I know because I was at Urbana 03.
It's hard to describe that event other than to say it was amazing… awesome…eye-opening…affirming. It affirmed my commitment to world missions and seeing how I could play a part in God's work around the world. At one time, I thought it would involve going into cross-cultural missions full-time and overseas. Time has passed and that hasn't happened…yet, but as world events are unfolding, I'm seeing opportunities arise for cross-cultural ministry opening up in my own backyard. Instead of going there, God is bringing there here.
Join me in praying for those who are attending Urbana 15 this year. You can sign up to receive daily prayer requests for the event. The prayer requests are for those attending but also for the global church. It is in great need of our prayer now.
