Today's devotional continues to expand on the verse from yesterday about why Christ came and what that means for us going forward.
We now have a clear purpose for living, summed up in "Trusting Jesus, loving people."
We now have hope that our failures will be forgiven. For those times when we fail to love, fail to trust, we can look to Christ who is our advocate before the Father. And then we pick ourselves up and go on. We can "Let the freedom to fail give you hope to fight."
We now know Christ will help us in this fight.
So here’s your third Christmas gift: Christ will help overcome sin in you. 1 John 4:4 says, “He who is in you is greater than he that is in the world.” Jesus is alive, Jesus is almighty, Jesus lives in us by faith. And Jesus is for us, not against us. He will help you. Trust him.
