Billy Crystal paid tribute to the late Robin Williams tonight at the Emmys. His tribute is included below. I watched it and felt my heart breaking again as Billy shared memories of that funny, funny man. I also cried at the ending. It still hurts to think that someone who brought us so much joy and laughter was so sad and alone at the end.
I wanted to share a song that reflected that memory and thought of this song, but initially thought of the original version by Judy Garland. Then I remembered Iz. Looking back through my list of songs, I happily discovered I’d never shared this song. How fitting to remember someone that was larger than life with a song sung by someone that was larger than life himself and who also left us all too soon.
You will be missed.
