Was listening briefly to All Things Considered and the topic was polyrhythm, the use of two seemingly incongruous or conflicting rhythms in a song. I only caught the end of the story, but was completely taken by the song at the end of the segment, itself a song utilizing polyrhythm; such amazing dissonance. I love the sound that is The National.
