Heard just a snippet of an interview with Sam Baker on NPR’s Fresh Air today. Heard this song and thought it worth sharing. Listened to some of his other songs and found them equally compelling, but just not yet ready to share. Not sure what it was about this song, but it has a painful beauty to it, hard to look at but charismatic, nonetheless.
I then found this version, recorded after the Boston bombing last year. Hard to hear, maybe, but like I said, compelling.
