365 Day Project-Day 91-Adiemus

Been a long day with family.  Saw one grandson off to school and then daughter, son-in-law and youngest grandson took off for appointment with pediatrician for baby’s first check up since being released from hospital on Sunday.  That left me with the middle grandson…  Once I got him out of the house (trust me, it took some doing… he’s a homebody), we took off for one of his favorite places… the mall.  Well, actually it’s the pond outside the mall that is his favorite place.  There are all sorts of koi and turtles there.  He could watch them for hours, if we let him.  I didn’t, but he was relatively amenable to leaving them to go run a couple of errands at the mall.  It was a fun time of running around with a grandson and spending time with just him.

I got to do that with my eldest grandson as well, when I went to pick him up at school later in the day.  It wasn’t until I got to the school, though, that I realized I really didn’t know where he would be.  I’ve picked him up from Kindergarten before and knew which direction he came from.  This time I wasn’t sure because now he’s in First Grade and they’re located elsewhere.  Fortunately, I watched for kids that looked about his age and wandered over that direction and sure enough I saw him looking around as well.  We then went off for a treat before we went home and it was just time spent alone with just the one grandson.

Later in the evening, I got to bathe the baby and spend some alone time with him, though he slept through most of it, but it was still precious to me to hold him as he slept.  This time won’t last long and I want to spend as much time as I can holding him and watching him fall asleep in my arms.

I love my boys.  My heart is full.  Hadn’t shared this song before and it came to mind as I was writing.
