Parenthood brought me to tears again tonight. I have several friends who have also said they cry during this show. It hits a nerve. I try to figure out why and I can only come back to the fact that it shows us “FAMILY.” The family can be crazy, dysfunctional, maddening, but it’s family. They can drive each other crazy and they push each other away and they fight against the ties that bind even. But when something happens… the family comes together in a strong way, a way that affects us all on a VERY personal level. It affects ME on a VERY personal level. I think, this is MY family! They are weird, crazy, drive-me-crazy kind of family, but they’re MY family. And I LOVE them. And, I KNOW they love ME! And that’s family.
