Saw an amazing production of “The Grapes of Wrath” tonight. Awesome performances and the set was perfectly sparse and the music… well the music was provided by a live bluegrass/folk band and they provided the perfect cadence to the poignant, painful story of the Joad family. I came home thinking of the music and began looking for something that would help me capture some of the elements of tonight’s music. Then I remembered The Punch Brothers. Found this video of them with Steve Martin. So many good things about this on so many levels.
