366 Day Project-Day 109-Waving Flag

I was preparing dinner tonight (spinach salad with grilled chicken strips, feta cheese crumbles, sliced strawberries in a balsamic vinaigrette… yes, it was tasty).  The TV was on and I heard this song playing, but by the time I got to the living room to see what was on, the commercial was over.  I remembered the one line, “When I get older,” so I immediately googled it.  Found this song, which, upon further research, I found out had been considered an unofficial anthem song during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.  I don’t remember it from that time, but it could be that I was busy repeatedly playing the official anthem song, “Waka Waka.”  (Don’t be surprised if that song shows up tomorrow…)

At any rate, there are multiple variations of this song, but I found this acoustic version, which I really liked.  There was a sincerity to this one that I found compelling, pared down to the basics; it was pure, you might say.
