Driving home from the weekly workout at the track, I was flipping through channels on the radio when I came upon fascinating music on the local NPR station, CapRadio. The harmonies, the horns, the whole sound gripped me, it was so beautifully fascinating. I sat and listened as the song came to an end and then waited to hear the name of the artist. Patrick Watson. Yeah, I’ve never heard of them, either, but then again, they’re Canadian and they’ve been around for a while and their sound is amazing. There are times when I hear similarities to Zach Condon and Beirut, but there are other elements, the harmonies that really create something very different. Love it. This song will be on their forthcoming CD, Adventures In Your Own Backyard. Get it.
