Fight the Freedom of Choice (FOCA) Act

I support different causes, but don’t necessarily get involved in the effort (ok, my bad).  I supported Proposition 8 through my vote, but didn’t get involved in online discussion.  I support different Christian organizations through financial donations.  I support March of Dimes through my job.  I get involved, but usually not deeply involved.

I must get involved now, and I intend to get as involved as I am able.  I signed the “Fight FOCA” petition and strongly urge you to do so as well.  It’s called the “Freedom of Choice Act” but I see NO choice on the part of the unborn.  I must speak for them and ask that you do the same.  You can go here to sign the petition and learn more about this horrible legislation.

I found out about the Fight FOCA website from Justin Taylor’s blog, Between Two Worlds.  He has written extensively on and provided links to articulate commentary on the abortion crisis and the frightening moral concerns that many have with this newly elected government.

So how can we get involved?  Prayer is first and foremost.  It must precede everything we do and in this situation, it must permeate all that we do.  After you pray, then act – get involved in a pregnancy crisis center, write your congressional representatives, speak up when the discussion arises, speak up for those unable to speak for themselves, get involved in the lives of women you may know going through an unplanned pregnancy, help them.  And after, pray more.  Pray for the unborn, pray for the women, pray for your elected officials, pray for those in positions to speak that they speak articulately and passionately and persuasively for the unborn.  In fighting for their lives, we fight for all life.

I’ll be sharing more how I am getting actively involved in protecting the unborn.  And remember, I’m typing this with a sling.
