Not that I’ve not been thinking of writing. It’s just I’ve been busy. I hate that excuse, too. But I have been busy. I’ve been involved over the past year with three different productions which meant going from auditions to rehearsals to performances… for a whole year. It was a year ago this month that I auditioned for “Oklahoma!” Not that it hasn’t been fun and I’ve had an amazing time working with a great bunch of people, but I’ve left some things alone for too long… like my writing.
I’ve also been involved with my new church and truth be told, I’ve actually been blogging over there quite a bit, but it’s different over there. I’m one of a group of bloggers there and am involved in discussions pertinent to the church. Here, it’s my musings only… on a wider assortment of topics than there. Sometimes I’ve overlapped with double-postings (is that the same as double-dipping…?).
And then there’s my grandson! I’m amazed every time I see him, he’s growing so fast, and so much. He’s going to be a big boy. And, alas, he has his grandmother’s big head. More room for learning, says I. But he is so much fun, even when he’s not happy. And that isn’t very often, but when he’s unhappy, he lets you know. Yeah, he’s got grandma’s loud voice, too.
He is sweet, though. I think he’s going to have Mandy’s temperament, easygoing, …happy, …mellow, …stubborn. (hey, where’d that come from?) He’s so funny to watch. He sees something that he wants and he finds ways to get to it. He can’t walk by himself just yet, but he can walk along furniture and walls, and you’ve seen his “crawl.” He gets focused on something and it takes some effort to get him focused on something else. And don’t try to take it away before he’s been distracted. Oh, my, he lets you know in no uncertain terms that you’ve crossed him. But then he gets distracted and he’s on to something else. That sounds like grandma’s attention span…
So, that’s why I haven’t written much. I got distracted. But can you blame me. Just look at him!
